Kelvingrove. When are we getting our Bandstand back
What more do you want people to do [Glasgow City Council] All the work has been done, all the interest is there, all the support groups are there, Feasibilities, Business Plans. The public want it to happen. "Historic Scotland is just waiting for a letter from L.S. Parks before we move to Indicative Offer" Pay up for Glasgow! It wouldn't do people any harm, to enquire at the council when this project will happen.

BANDSTAND & AMPHITHEATRE (B&A) PROJECT - KEY POINTS JUNE 2005
• B-Listed 2000
• Feasibility Study completed 2003
• Business Plan (just finished) provides an excellent opportunity for G.C.C. to back the project
• Friends is very concerned to ensure that all of Kelvingrove Park remains as public space
• Now looking for funding to restore the B&A : public support essential (none of the grant awarding bodies will look at a project unless there is evidence of public support]
• So far 5 main potential flinders

Arts Council
G.C.C.
Scottish Enterprise Glasgow
• To go to Council Parks & Facilities cttee in August
• 54 other bandstands throughout the U.K. have already been restored by H.L.F. They are all council owned and maintained, and are seen as important areas of civic pride and tourist infrastructure.
• Glasgow has a unique B&A, designed and built by its own Parks Dept.,
• even at feasibility stage there was a convincing list of potential users, which has now been extended and consolidated
• Historic Scotland is just waiting for a letter from L.S. Parks before we move to Indicative Offer
