City Strolls - events - meetings

Monday, May 23, 2005

Welcome to this week's Glasgow Autonomy Update. "Critical"

With the end of the month coming up again, it's time for another Critical Mass bike ride in Glasgow. Critical Mass are a group of cyclists who get together on the last Friday of every month, 5.30pm in George Square. The idea is to take a leisurely ride around the city in a big group - not to block the traffic, but to BE the traffic! It's a great time to meet other cyclists, gain confidence cycling in the city, and have some fun too.

PLEASE LET US KNOW ABOUT EVENTS HAPPENING IN AND AROUND GLASGOW SO THAT WE CAN INCLUDE THEM NEXT WEEK.

Preferred format is a short summary, with practical details of when and where, and a link to a web page for more detail. If you do not have a web site of your own, the excellent http://scotland.indymedia.org/ allows anyone to easily create a page letting others know what you have been, or are up to.

Send that to glasgowautonomyupdates@lists.riseup.net before Sunday for inclusion in the following week.

We see this fulfilled thru a society built upon principles of co-operation, solidarity, mutual-aid, direct democracy and freedom of association.

We are currently in the process of creating a social centre.

A place to have a cup of tea in a friendly, non commercial space, read a book or magazine and find out about stuff that's going on in the city, the country and the rest of the world.

A meeting place for wayward souls.

A resource centre for groups fighting for autonomy, freedom, solidarity, equality, sustainability, mutual aid and peace against poverty, war and oppression.

If you would like to contribute to the project financially please note the following details. We are looking for one-off donations but especially standing orders.
