Welcome to this week's Glasgow Autonomy Update. (Sorry a bit late)

This week we're putting the spotlight on the Cre8 Summit project.Cre8 Summit is aiming to do something positive around the time of the G8 Summit. Glaswegians and more far-flung anti-G8 visitors will have the chance to work together and build a beautiful community garden to last long after the world leaders have gone home. In the next month there will be a series of public meetings for those
wanting to get involved.

For more information in the meantime, you can call the Cre8 Summitphone on 07981 954132, or email cre8summit@riseup.net.

For more anti-G8 action, head over to the medieval anti-G8 street party on Sunday 22nd May in Stirling. Meet 12.30pm, King St pedestrianised zone, Stirling. This event is organised by Wimmin vs G8 but all genders are welcome! Fancy dress encouraged.

=====================================================================

PLEASE LET US KNOW ABOUT EVENTS HAPPENING IN AND AROUND GLASGOW SO
THAT WE CAN INCLUDE THEM NEXT WEEK.

Preferred format is a short summary, with practical details of when
and where, and a link to a web page for more detail. If you do not
have a web site of your own, the excellent
http://scotland.indymedia.org/ allows anyone to easily create a page
letting others know what you have been, or are up to.

Send that to glasgowautonomyupdates@lists.riseup.net before Sunday
for inclusion in the following week.

We strive for a sustainable society where all people are free to live
their lives as they see fit without fear of oppression, persecution
or marginalization insofar as this does not prevent others from
doing the same. We see this fulfilled thru a society built upon
principles of co-operation, solidarity, mutual-aid, direct democracy
and freedom of association.

We are currently in the process of creating a social centre.

A place to have a cup of tea in a friendly, non commercial space,
read a book or magazine and find out about stuff that's going on in
the city, the country and the rest of the world.

A meeting place for wayward souls.

A resource centre for groups fighting for autonomy, freedom,
solidarity, equality, sustainability, mutual aid and peace against
poverty, war and oppression.

If you would like to contribute to the project financially please
note the following details. We are looking for one-off donations
but especially standing orders.

Account Name: "Printworks"
Sort Code: 11 47 21
Account Number: 00026891
