Autonomous Updates

Hello folks and welcome to this week's Glasgow Autonomy Update.

Our featured news story this week is that of a participatory project called Shop 111. Shop 111 opened its doors to the public on Saturday. Situated in Saltmarket, the project is to rent a shop for one month, and use it how the locals see fit. Prior to opening Will Foster, who conceived of it, went round the local community fairly extensively to try and gauge opinion about what the working class residents of the Saltmarket felt they needed most, and surprise, surprise they said they needed a place to buy fruit and vegetables, and a place to congregate and wash their clothes, not yet another trendy furniture shop.

Shop 111 is open Tuesday to Friday (12:00 – 4:30) and Saturday & Sunday
(11:00 – 17:00). Pop along and take a look or lend a hand.
