Jam74 -anti-M74 meeting at the PANDORA pub on Victoria Road, THIS WEDNESDAY 24th at 7.30pm

The M74 extension through the southside of Glasgow is currently on hold because of a legal challenge which will be heard on 27th June (verdict expected at a later date). However, if this decision goes the wrong way, the roadbuilders won't hesitate in attempting to bulldoze their ridiculous and damaging scheme through our community.

The road should be opposed on both environmental and social justice grounds as a damaging scheme imposed on some of Glasgow's poorest communities by a nexus of governmental and business interests. Some seeds of resistance are already planted, such as JAM74's Beat the Bulldozers pledge and the plan to revitalise and host events at the community garden at Eglinton Toll. However to be successful we need to prepare the ground for a further campaign. With this in mind, you are invited to come to an informal meeting to discuss (anti-)concrete plans for resisting the road and improving and making use of the garden space this summer. Meeting to take place at the PANDORA pub on Victoria Road, THIS WEDNESDAY at 7.30pm Hope to see you (or someone from your group) there. If you are unable to make Wednesday, there will be gardening going on at Eglinton Toll (behind the billboards) this Saturday from 12noon, this will be a good place to talk to people involved and get a feel for the area.
