Wayside Centre BENEFIT

Wayside Centre BENEFIT GIG AT STEREO - 11TH FEBRUARY
Hi Mick here
I'm just e-mailing to let you know that I'm helping to put on a benefit (of sorts) at Stereo for the Wayside Centre on Saturday 11th February. I'd intended to e-mail you about this a bit earlier so that you could stick it on your mailing list for this week, but I've been pretty busy of late and it seemed to slip my mind! Anyway, here's the details: BENEFIT GIG AT STEREO - 11TH FEBRUARY
We're using our gig on 11th February as an opportunity to collect food donations for the Wayside Centre on Midland Street, which provides a number of services for homeless people in the city. They're pretty easy going about what kind of donations they accept, but we'd suggest things along the lines of the following:

- Tinned soup
- Tinned fruit/veg
- Pasta/rice
- Tinned tuna

And so on - use your common sense! If you want to find out more about the Wayside Centre then visit www.waysidecentre.org.uk . You'll also probably be wanting to know about the bands that are playing, so...

FLYBLOWN
Thundering D-beat from London that apes the best Swedish and Japanese traditions: think Anti-Cimex, Confuse and Gloom all rolled up into one bundle of heavily distorted misery. Plus Pete looks like Rob Halford.

Duckstab
Ex-members of Motley Crudos - need I say more? Combining UKHC (before it became a by-word for metal) with the Scandinavian retro attack of DS-13, Amdi Peterson Arme and so on, Duckstab turn the volume up to eleven and the thrash to twelve.

Today We Fight
Sincere melodic HC from Edinburgh, like Champion or Comeback Kid without the guarantees and the £20 'official brand' shorts. Well, not yet anyway.

Black Ark
A mysterious gathering of past and present members of Santo Caserio, Snowblood and Friday Night Gunfight. Early reports pinned them down as sounding like Amanda Woodward, but ye cannae be too sure - come along and see for yourself!

SATURDAY 11TH FEBRUARY @ STEREO (14 KELVINHAUGH ST)
MATINEE GIG 3PM - 6PM £5 ENTRY

We'll also be taking a mailing list for Glasgow Food Not Bombs at the door, so stick down your e-mail address if you're interested and we'll get back to you about meeting up to get things off the ground. Hope to see you there!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It'd be awesome if you could forward this information on to people who you think might be interested. I'll try to pop down to the Chalkboard before the weekend with some flyers if that sounds OK. Thanks very much for your time and help, take care
Mick
