Climate Change training in Glasgow and Edinburgh this June

Everyone knows about climate change. It is almost impossible to open a newspaper or watch TV without seeing something about it. But when you decide you want to get people to actually DO something, the real questions are how do I communicate what it's about - and how urgent it is? The Climate Outreach and Information Network (COIN) has been running effective, exciting and ground-breaking trainings in England and Wales for the past two years. Now two of the best trainings are coming to Scotland for two dates each.
This is for everybody who wants to gain confidence about communicating climate change at work, in their organisations, in the local community, and among friends and family.

Glasgow @ The Pearce Institute, 840-860 Govan Road, Govan, Glasgow G51 3UU

Climate Change Condensed: Monday 9th June, 18:30-21:30

‘Pithy - inspired and focused.’ Susan Dye, Administrator

‘A tour-de-force (on) the issue of the age.’ Matt Carmichael, teacher, writer, entrepreneur

‘Meaningful and serious, yet completely accessible course, that didn’t scare but made me feel empowered.’ Nathan Kauzmarski, Transport Planner

Speaker Training

COIN's intensive 4-hour training course gives participants the text, information, skills and confidence to prepare and deliver a persuasive half hour talk on climate change.

‘We can make a difference. Action begins with all of us, and action starts now. This course has started the ball rolling.’ Anon

‘A shot in the arm, a real boost, motivating.’ Douglas Coker

‘Rewarding and inspirational - never thought talking about climate change could feel so positive!' Ali Hines

‘Exceptionally useful training that gave me the structure, foundation and clarity to speak to groups about climate change.’ Alexis Garnaut-Miller, Corporate Wellness

Polish Club Mardi Gras Parade

Sikorski Polish Club, 5 Parkgrove Terrace, Glasgow G3 7SD
http://www.sikorskipolishclub.org.uk/
West End Festival - Mardi Gras Parade - Glasgow. 15 June - 2pm The Sikorski Polish club is organising a 'Polish Style' entry for the Opening Parade of "Scotland's Mardi Gras" on Sunday 15 June. The Mardi Gras Parade, with a theme of NATURE, will have many percussion bands and participants wearing exotic costumes: it starts from Botanic Gardens, parades down Byres Road, along Dumbarton Road to Kelvingrove

Park where the party will continue.

We want our contribution from the Polish Community in Scotland, along with our Scottish and international friends, to make a vibrant impact, with costume, dance, and music. Several artists will work with us. Our entry is sponsored by The Sikorski Polish Club and West End Festival, aided by many performers and individuals.

If you can help us with costume making and decorations, or if you are a musician/drummer or dancer, please contact us. If you want to take part, old or young, to join the fun, let us know - but everyone should be dressed in an interesting way, so help us prepare. Let's show Glasgow how to do carnival 'Polish Style'.

All donations to our Mardi Gras Fund are very welcome - contacts below - acknowledgements for all sponsors. Also during the Festival period - an Exhibition by Polish photographers, and a barbecue. We will also document the Parade (film etc). Meet us Saturdays at the Club 2pm> or
